Laštůvka & Laštůvka (2014) betonen: "It is very difficult to distinguish from Phyllonorycter trifasciella (Haworth, 1828) and probably often confused with it. There are very small differences in the male genitalia, female genitalia apparently indistinguishable."

3.2. Nahrung der Raupe

• [Caprifoliaceae:] Cephalaria leucantha [= Scabiosa leucantha] (Weißblütiger Schuppenkopf)
• [Caprifoliaceae:] Cephalaria uralensis (Ural-Schuppenkopf)

Nach Nel & Varenne (2014) lebt die Raupe in unterseitigen Blattminen von Cephalaria leucantha. Savchuk & Kajgorodova (2020: 256) fanden die entsprechenden Minen auf der Krim an Blattunterseiten von Cephalaria uralensis.

4.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Die Art wurde nach ihrer Raupennahrungspflanze - Cephalaria leucantha - benannt.

4.2. Andere Kombinationen

4.3. Taxonomie

Lhomme (1934) beschrieb das Taxon als Subspecies Lithocolletis trifasciella cephalariae.

4.4. Faunistik

Nach der Fauna Europaea [fauna-eu.org] wurde die Art bisher in Frankreich, Kroatien und Griechenland nachgewiesen. Huemer & Morandini (2009) meldeten die Art neu für Italien. Laštůvka & Laštůvka (2014) melden Erstnachweise für Spanien (Teruel, Albarracín, Valdevécar) und Portugal (Ribatejo, Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, Valverde). Savchuk & Kajgorodova (2020: 256) führen Raupenfunde auf der Krim an.
