3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Slamka (2019: 83) erklärt: "The species named tehranella is derived from the name of the Tehran city, which is about 80 km west of the type locality in N Iran - Tar lake area".

3.2. Taxonomie

Nach Slamka (2019: 83) gehört die Art in die Gruppe um P. maraschella, mit der sie bisher verwechselt wurde, und von der sie äußerlich nicht zu unterscheiden ist.

3.3. Faunistik

Die Art ist bisher nur vom locus typicus im Nord-Iran (Elburs-Gebirge 80 km W Teheran) bekannt.

Slamka (2019: 82) informiert: "Holotype, ♂: N Persia, Elburs Mts., Tarseegebiet, 2200 m [N Iran, Elburz Mts., N 35°43.78', E 52°13.644'], 14.-17.vii.1936, Schwingenschuss, GP MV 19976 Slamka, coll NHMW [17,1 mm]; paratypes: 2 ♀♀, same locality as holotype, GP MV 19982 Slamka; GP MV 19765 Slamka, both coll. NHMW."
