Amsel (1935: 285) fand seine neue Art beim Georgskloster in Jericho (Palästinensische Autonomiegebiete). Die Art ist bisher nur von dort und der "Jordanbrücke" bekannt. Slamka (2019: 167) vermutet aber eine weitere Verbreitung im Nahen Osten.
