3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Bidzilya et al. (2024: 105) erläutern ihre Namenswahl: "The species is named after the Oleshky Sands, protected in the park of the same name, in the Kherson Region of South Ukraine, the type locality of the new species."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Anerastia lotella ist in Europa und der Palaearktis weit verbreitet und dabei hinsichtlich der Genitalien auffalled uniform. Bidzilya et al. (2024) bemerken in ihrem Vorspann: "As a result of the recent revision of the tribe Anerastiini in Ukraine (Bidzilya et al. 2020), Anerastia dubia Gerasimov, 1930 was synonymized with Anerastia lotella (Hübner, 1813), and Anerastia incarnata Staudinger, 1879 was transferred to the genus Peoria Ragonot, 1887. Thus, the number of European species of Anerastia was reduced to two: A. lotella and A. incarnatella (Ragonot, 1887). The latter was described from a single female collected in Sarepta (currently Krasnoarmeysk near Volgograd, Russia). The taxonomic status of this species is unclear as the type remains unstudied. However, it is most probably another synonym of A. lotella. Recently, another taxon — Anerastia lotella dignella P. Leraut, 2014 was described from Digne, Alpes de Haute-Provence (France)." Nach Barcode-Studien erheben sie dieses Taxon in den Artrang (Anerastia dignella P. Leraut, 2014) und stellen daneben fest, dass es in der Ukraine ein Taxon gibt, das ebenfalls in den Genitalien und im Barcode deutlich von A. lotella abweicht: Anerastia oleshkyella Bidzilya, Huemer & Yepishin, 2024. Der genetische Abstand ist mit 2,02 % zwar gerade im Bereich des üblichen Mindestabstands von Arten, doch liegt er deutlich außerhalb der innerartlichen Variabilität der sowohl in der Paläarktis als auch der Nearktis verbreiteten und auch im Sudan zu findenden A. lotella.

Die neue Art ist bisher nur aus der Cherson-Region der Süd-Ukraine bekannt.

Bidzilya | HOLOTYPE ♂ | Anerastia oleshkyella, sp. nov. | TLMF Lep 27040 (ZMKU).” — Paratypen: 5 ♂♂ und 2 ♀♀, alle aus der Ukraine.
