3. Biologie

3.1. Nahrung der Raupe

Chrétien (1917: 435-436) beschreibt die Raupe und meldet, dass sie in Afrika einzeln oder in kleinen Gruppen an Rauhblattgewächsen zu finden sind, konkret: "Elle se nourrit de differentes Boraginacées : Heliotropium undulatum Vahl, Lithospermum callosum Vahl and Echiochilon suffruticosum Desf., vivant en petite société ou isolément, dans des tuyaux de soie entourés de sable, Sous les tiges tracantes de ces plantes et parmi les feuilles." In seiner Zucht wurden auch Heliotropium europaeum, Cynoglossum officinale und Borago officinalis als Futter angenommen.

4.3. Faunistik

Die Art wurde aus Pakistan (Sind, Karachi) beschrieben. Falck et al. (2019: 38) melden die Art von mehreren Fundstellen auf Fuerteventura und Lanzarote und damit neu für die Kanarischen Inseln und neu für Europa i.w.S. Sie ergänzen: "The Canary Island population belongs to ssp. desertella (Caradja, 1916)." Die sonstige Verbreitung umreißen sie mit: "Widely distributed (in three subspecies) from North Africa through Sahara to the Middle East and Arabia to Pakistan (Roesler, 1993: 152-156)."
