Zeller (1867: 464) beschrieb die Art von "Jebel e Tayr" [= Jabal aţ Ţayr] am Rande des Nil in Ober-Ägypten. Das Synonym Tarquitia nubicella wurde von El Obeid (al-Ubayyid) im Sudan beschrieben. Slamka (2019: 124) kann keine Vorkommen in weiteren Ländern nennen.
