Amsel (1935: 285-286) fand seine neue Art beim Georgskloster bei Jericho und in Jericho (Palästinensische Autonomiegebiete). Slamka (2019: 167) meldet zusätzlich Israel (südlich des Toten Meers, Typenlokalität des Synonyms Phycita basistrigata Amsel, 1935), Irak (Bagdad) und Vereinigte Arabische Emirate (Al-Ajban, 80 m, Typenlokalität des Synonyms Phycita arabica Asselbergs, 2008).
