Leraut (2014) schreibt: "P. aurorella (Christoph, 1867), from Sarepta (Russia), is obviously not a Pempeliella, but the author cannot settle the matter here because he has not been able to handle the species." Slamka (2019: 40) sieht hier sehr wohl eine Pempeliella.

Slamka (2019: 40) stuft die aus Armenien beschriebenen und in der Türkei verbreitete Pempelia ambustiella bzw. Pseuosyria ambustiella zur Subspecies von Pempeliella aurorella herab.
