3.2. Faunistik

Locus typicus sind die "plains of Jordan, das Jordantal. Ohne nähere Angabe ist eine eindeutige Zuordnung zu einem Land heute nicht möglich (am wahrscheinlichsten Israel).

Plant (2016: 59) geht auf die 2 bisherigen (alten) Funde aus Bulgarien ein und diskutiert die weiteren in Europa und darüber hinaus: "Karsholt & Razowski (1996) list this species in Europe for Albania and Bulgaria only. I am not aware of the details of the Albanian record, but in Bulgaria we have only Balchik, 12.VII.1929 & 4.VIII.1932 (Pooescu-Gorj, 1964). Zeller's original description includes the comment that “Herr Lederer also met with this insect in Amasia: ‘twelve miles from Amasia, in a dry place, not very scarce in June. I only, however, caught one, as I thought it was argyrogrammos.’ – Lederer, in litt.”. Amasia is, of course, modern-day Amasya, in European Turkey in the mountains near the Black Sea. The type locality is in Jordan." Warum hier von "European Turkey" die Rede ist, verstehe ich nicht, denn die Stadt Amasya (Amasia) liegt eindeutig in Asien.

Die Angabe zu Albanien geht auf Roesler (1969: 967) zurück, der den Fund von 5 Exemplaren in "Mali me Gropë, Livadhed e Selitës, Wiese in 1000-1100 m, lux 3.-8.VII. 1961, Genital-Präparat (U. Roesler) Nr. 4980 ♂, Nr. 4982 ♂, DEI" bzw. "Poliçan westlich Tomor, 500 m" meldet.

Nach diesen Angaben scheint E. monogrammos seit über 50 Jahren nicht mehr in Europa beobachtet worden zu sein.
