Noch unbekannt! Hofmann & Tremewan (2020: 475) betonen: "Nothing is known on the life history of this species." Sie haben allerdings eine Vermutung: "A cushion forming, spiny Astragalus (sec. Tragacanthus), probably Astragalus lasiosemius Boiss. (Hofmann & Tremewan, 1996: 80), was recorded from all localities and is presumed to be the larval host-plant." Die Pflanze ist eine der Raupennahrungspflanzen von Z. sogdiana, als deren Unterart Z. storaiae ja zunächst beschrieben wurde.

3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Clas M. Naumann widmete seine neue Unterart (jetzt Art) seiner Frau Storai Naumann-Nawabi.

3.3. Taxonomie

Hofmann & Tremewan (2020: 413) stellen Zygaena storaiae in die Untergattung Agrumenia und dort als neunte (und damit letzte) Art nach Z. sogdiana in die Z. cocandica-group.

3.4. Faunistik

Die Art ist nur von wenigen Stellen aus einem eng umgrenzten Gebiet in Afghanistan (Paktia) aus Höhenlagen von 2300-3000 m bekannt; weitere Details bei Hofmann & Tremewan (2020: 474-477).
