Typenfundort ist Shahkuh im Iran. Auch das Synonym Mechedia pristophorella wurde aus dem Iran (Khorassan, Kouh-i-Binaloud, 3000 m) beschrieben. Slamka (2019: 123) schreibt zur Gesamtverbreitung: "Mountains in Iran, Afhanistan and Kashmir." Kaschmir wird leider nicht näher erläutert, so dass es sich um Pakistan oder auch Indien handeln könnte (eventuell sogar China). Alle bekannten Fundstellen liegen zwischen 2000 und 3000 m Höhe.
