3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Yakovlev & Saldaitis in Yakovlev (2011: 41) erläutern ihre Namenswahl: "The new species is named after the brothers K. Nupponen & T. Nupponen, Finnish entomologists." Diese hatten die komplette Typenserie (12 Männchen) zwischen dem 28. April und 10. Mai 1996 mittels Pheromon an ihrem Hotelbalkon 20 km W Antalya gesammelt, wobei die Tiere jeweils frühabends ca. 1 h vor Sonnenuntergang anflogen.

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Yakovlev & Saldaitis in Yakovlev (2011: 41) erklären: "The new species differs from the related Stygioides colchicus (H.-S.) in a number of characters: long pale grey hairs on the thorax and abdomen, the presence of the tuft of long hairs on the abdomen apically, and the well-developed costal process of the valva." Alle 12 Exemplare der Erstbeschreibung wurden mittels Pheromon auf einem Balkon ca. 20 km westlich von Antalya (Türkei) angelockt - weitere Funde scheint es nicht zu geben - vor allem ist auch das Weibchen noch unbekannt.

Yakovlev & Saldaitis in Yakovlev (2011: 41) listeten auf: "Holotype ♂, Turkey, Anatolia, Antalya, 20 km W, 10.05.1996, leg. K. Nupponen & J. Junnilainen (MWM); paratype ♂, same locality (RYB); 2 ♂♂, same locality, 29-IV-1996 (ASL); 8 ♂♂ in coll. T. & K. Nupponen, all of them with the same data as the holotype, except for collecting dates: 6 ♂♂, 28-IV-1996; 1 ♂, 29-IV-1996; 1 ♂, 8-V-1996."
