Die Art ist nach Slamka (2013) nur aus den Alpes-Maritimes (Frankreich: Tende; Roya valley und Parc National de Mercantour; Saorge) bekannt.

Leraut (1996: 218) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: « Holotype mâle. France, Alpes-Maritimes, Tende, 3 juillet 1962 (J. Bourgogne leg. (déterminé comme austriacalis), prép. génit. Leraut n° 3167, coll. Bourgogne (MNHN). »
