4.2. Faunistik

Moore (1883: 27-28) beschrieb seine Sonagara vialis mit Typenfundort "Himalaya".

[jpmoth.org (abgefragt 25. Januar 2022)] zeigt Falter von Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand und teilt zur Gesamtverbreitung mit: "India, Thailand, China, Malay Peninsular, Sumatra, Java, Borneo. Lowland to montane (1500m)". Leicht abweichend meldet [pyralidsofborneo.org]: "China, Himalayas, Bangladesh, Vietnam (N), Thailand, Sumatra, W. Malaysia, Brunei, Sabah, Java. Lowland and to upper montane forest; up to 1800m."

Aus Europa wurde die Art nur in einem Einzelexemplar beim Lichtfang (!) von Southampton in England gemeldet. Agassiz et al. (2013: 112) führen die Art bei den "adventive species" und schreiben zu England: "One at light Southampton, Hampshire, 1994: (Goater & Honey, 2003). Oriental." Auf [hantsmoths.org.uk] wird dieses einzige in Europa gefangene Exemplar abgebildet und erläutert: "Itchen Valley, Hampshire VC11, 07/10/1994, Unknown, Specimen in BMNH; first record for British Isles, Roy Houghton (c) Martin Honey 2010" und: "Recorded infrequently through accidental importation from the Far East. A male specimen of this Oriental species, new to Europe, was taken in Hampshire at MV in the Lower Itchen valley on 7 October 1994 by R Houghton, who presented it to the British Museum of Natural History, London, where it was identified by Martin Honey by dissection."
