3.1. Faunistik

T. subditalis wurde aus Südafrika beschrieben: "Habitat in tractibus fluviorum Limpoponis et Gariepis". Die Art scheint ganz auf das südliche Afrika beschränkt zu sein.

Sammut (1984: 30) listete die Art auch für Malta: "171. T. subditalis Zeller, [33]". S. 189 wird erläutert: "171. Collected once by the Rev. F. Caruana from St. Joseph Institute Hamrun on October 23rd., 1944. This ex-Conti specimen is now housed in the collections of Mr. L. Cassar." Da die Art sonst nie mehr auf Malta gefunden wurde, wird das Tier im Lepiforum als verschlepptes Einzeltier interpretiert - alternativ wäre aber auch eine Fehletikettierung denkbar.
