Rajaei & al. (2023: 302) bezeichnen eine Meldung aus dem Iran als irrtümlich: “Amata maracandina is a Central Asian species (type locality: Uzbekistan “Sarafschan”). The report of this species by Mirzayans & Kalali (1970) from Sistan-o-Baluchestan (Khash, Taftan and Koucheh) is erroneous and could be a misidentification of A. beluchistana.”
