3. Weitere Informationen

3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Hu et al. (2026: 74) erklären: "The specific name is derived from the Latin specialis (= unique), referring to the blackish androconial scales on the hindwing of the male."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Hu et al. (2026) beschrieben die Art nach 5 Männchen und einem Weibchen: "Sorolopha specialis sp. nov. is very similar to S. ferruginosa and S. nanlingica in forewing pattern, but can be distinguished by the presence of blackish androconial scales on the lower surface of the hindwing in males. In male genitalia morphology, S. specialis sp. nov. resembles several congeners, including S. ferruginosa, S. nanlingica, S. baribaris, and S. viridis Sakagami, 2023. [...]".

Alle Nachweise erfolgten im Süden Chinas (siehe Typenmaterial). Unklar bleibt, ob kein Barcode untersucht wurde oder dieser scheiterte.
