3.4. Taxonomie

Huemer & Karsholt (2010) führen die von Huemer (1993) als Art beschriebene Lutilabria olympica als Subspezies von Lutilabria lutilabrella. Huemer (2019) stellt fest, dass Brachmia robustella als Synonym zu L. lutilabrella gehört. Er bemerkt ferner: "The subspecific variation in morphological characters in L. lutilabrella is insufficiently reported due to the paucity of material. Subspecies olympica from Greece is larger with 17–21 mm wingspan compared to topotypical L. lutilabrella from Croatia with only 14–17 mm, and furthermore has a broader basal plate of the signum. The holotype of B. robustella with 18.5 mm seems intermediate in wingspan, whereas the signum clearly corresponds to the nominate subspecies. Therefore, as already discussed by Huemer & Karsholt (2010), the current subspecific status of ssp. olympica requires a re-evaluation based on more material, and particularly on molecular data."

Nach Huemer & Karsholt (2010) wurde die Art bisher in Kroatien, Griechenland, Slowenien, Bulgarien und der Ukraine nachgewiesen.
