Die Art wurde aus Bagdad im Irak beschrieben, ebenso das synonym Loxostege flavivenalis; das Synonym Loxostege osthelderi stammt aus Marasch [Karamanmaraş] in der Türkei. Slamka (2013: 18) führt die Art zusätzlich aus dem Iran und Armenien an.
