3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Meyrick (1915: 214-215) beschrieb eine neue Art und - wie so oft - für sie auch gleich eine neue Gattung: "Crembalastis Meyrick, 1915".

Nye & Fletcher (1991: 81) akzeptierten die Gattung Crembalastis mit Vermerk: "Type-species: Crembalastis erythrorma Meyrick, 1915, ibidem 1915: 214, by monotypy.“ Hsu & Powell (2005: 10) kamen zu einem anderen Schluss: “Crembalastis Meyrick was not regarded as an independent OTU because this genus agrees with Embola Walsingham in all character states and is considered a subjective synonym of Embola.“

Die Art wurde nach 10 Exemplaren beiderlei Geschlechts aus Lima, 500 feet, in Peru beschrieben.
