Goater (1986) teilt mit: Introduced with water plants from the U.S.A. to aquatic greenhouses at Enfield, and the first to be recorded there. Endemic to the United States, from Texas to Florida and the eastern states, and introduced to the Hawaiian Islands. There is some evidence that it can spread from greenhouse to greenhouse in Britain, but none so far that it can survive in the wild." In der Fauna Europaea (Fauna Europaea Web Service.
