3.1. Taxonomie
Kaila (2015: 318-319) berichtet noch über eine “Elachista sp. nr. grandella and E. dalmatiensis”. Das genetisch klar getrennte Taxon aus Norditalien und Slowenien dürfte eine noch unbeschriebene kryptische Art darstellen.
3.2. Faunistik
Kaila (2015) informiert: “The record of E. grandella from Germany (Biesenbaum 1995) is here interpreted to represent E. dispunctella, as the phallus/valva length ratio in the genital illustration of the German specimen matches E. dispunctella, not E. grandella.” Demnach käme E. grandella in Deutschland nicht vor. Neben dem Typenfundort in Österreich nahe der ungarischen Grenze führt er noch ein untersuchtes Exemplar aus Ungarn an: “Nyir p. Kecskemet, 17–27.V.1937, 1 ♂, J. Klimesch leg., L. Kaila prep. 5839 (ZSM)”.
Bidzilya et al. (2016) melden die Art als neu für die Ukraine.

Traugott-Olsen (1992: 225) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotype ♂. Austria inf. Pfaffenberg, Porta hungarica, 18-V-1960, leg. F. Kasy; Gen. prep. C.5.9.86/ETO; Wing prep. B.25.3.87/ETO. – in the NHMW.”
