Die Art wurde nach 2 Männchen aus dem Osten Kasachstans beschrieben. Baldizzone & Huemer (2026: 37) können etliche Falter von Kirgisistan melden: "1 ♂, Kyrgyzstan, Prov. Batken, Tokhta-Boz mts., vill. Madygen, 1600m, 40.03953°N, 70.31067°E, 14.6.2010, leg. N. Pöll, DNA Barcode ID TLMF_Lep_30561; 4 ♂, 1 ♀, Kyrgyzstan (K69), Issyk-Kul lake, Kaji Say, 1774m, 19./20.6.2022, leg. P. Die Zuordnung der Weibchen - und damit deren Beschreibung - gelang ihnen mittels Barcoding: "The species was described based on two males from Kazakhstan. The presence of specimens of both sexes in the studied material allows us to describe the female." Zum Barcode war zu erfahren: "BIN: BOLD:ACB1331. The intraspecific average p-distance of the barcode region is 0.94% (n=11). The minimum p-distance to the Nearest Neighbor, Coleophora dubiella Baker, 1888, is 5.45% (BIN: BOLD:ACE3615) (n=3)."
