2.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Die Art ist offensichtlich nach dem Hotel „Tanit“ benannt, wo der Holotypus gefunden wurde.

Baldizzone (1982: 204) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotypus ♂ (PG Bldz 2115) Skanés, Hotel Tanit, 16. IX. 1977 (loc. N° 165), leg. S. & L. Mahunka.”
