Baldizzone et al. (2026: 37) schreiben zu ihren Tieren von Kirgisistan: "BIN: BOLD:AAZ1053. This BIN also includes six samples of Coleophora gazella Toll, 1952, indicating BIN-sharing. The intraspecific average p-distance of the barcode region is 1.68% (n=10). The minimum p-distance to the Nearest Neighbor, Coleophora caelebipennella, is 6.28% (BIN: BOLD:AAE8822) (n=19)."

3.4. Faunistik

Die Art wurde aus dem Iran beschrieben. Căpușe (1976) fand sie dann auch im Donaudelta von Rumänien und damit neu für Europa. Dafür führte er eine neue Subspecies ein: "Multicoloria sumptuosa scythica". Da ich die Arbeit noch nicht studieren konnte, kenne ich keine Details. Rákosy (1998: 259) jedenfalls führt die Unterart als in Rumänien endemisch vom Donaudelta an.

Baldizzone et al. (2026: 37) melden die Art erstmals von Kirgisistan und schreiben zur Gesamtverbreitung: "Described from a male collected in Iran, later recorded also from the Danube delta, Romania (ssp. scythica Căpuşe, 1976) and from Hungary (Gozmány et al., 1986). Distribution: Hungary, romania, Iran. New for Kyrgyzstan."

Toll (1952: 46) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: « Iran, Schahkuh, Elburs oriental. La femelle est inconnue. Le type se trouve dans ma collection. »
