3.1. Nahrung der Raupe

• [Fabaceae:] Lotus edulis (Essbarer Hornklee)

Van der Wolff (2009) fasst das bisher Bekannte zusammen und schreibt: "The larvae are known to feed on Colutea arborescens L."

Baldizzone (2019: 343) berichtet: "Piante alimentari: Sono conosciute alcune Fabaceae: Colutea arborescens (Baldizzone, 1989b) e Tripodium tetraphyllum (Nel, 1994), specie in base alla quale è stato descritto il ciclo larvale da Nel. Zerafa (2015) l'ha alllevata anche da Lotus edulis." Zerafa (2015: 69) nannte für Malta konkrete Raupensackfunde an Tripodium tetraphyllum, Anthyllis vulneraria und Lotus edulis; dazu schrieb er: "The biology of this species was addressed by Giorgio Baldizzone who found it on Colutea arborescens L. but the larval stage was described by Nel (1994) which was collected on Anthyllis tetraphylla L.. Nel (1994) described and illustrated the larval case and the larva mentioning only the thoracic plates and illustrating them and gave the number of claws on the abdominal and anal crotchets without mentioning the size and colour of the larva or the size of the case. In Malta, the species was collected from various localities on Tripodion tetraphyllum (L.) Fourr. to which Anthyllis tetraphylla L. is today considered a synonym, Anthyllis vulneraria L. and Lotus edulis L."

Damit ist klar, dass die Raupe doch recht unterschiedliche Fabaceen nutzen kann.

• Coleophora ochristrigella Ragonot, 1895 [von Baldizzone (1979: 78) noch als bona species geführt; wer das Taxon synonymisierte, ist mir am 22.03.2023 noch unbekannt]
• Coleophora modicella Chrétien, 1922 [synonymisiert mit C. ochristrigella von Baldizzone (1982)]
• Coleophora medicaginella Toll, 1944 [synonymisiert mit C. ochristrigella von Baldizzone (1982)]

4.2. Faunistik

Die Art wurde aus Süd-Spanien beschrieben (locus typicus: Chiclana). Van der Wolff (2009) meldet die Art von Fuerteventura und vermerkt dazu: "This species is new for the Canary Islands. Distribution: Canary Islands (Fuerteventura), Morocco, Southern Europe."

Baldizzone & Nel (1993: 354) melden die Art aus Frankreich, « Var près de Bandol, lieu-dit Naron, altitude 120 m, sur la commune de Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, le 1er avril 1990, sur une terrasse de culture abandonnée, dans une station du Lycène Tomares battus Fabricius, 1787. »

Zerafa (2015: 69) meldete etliche Funde von Malta.
