3.1. Nahrung der Raupe

• [Fabaceae:] Astragalus arenarius (Sand-Tragant)

Der Holotypus wurde als Raupensack an Astragalus arenarius gefunden. Dies scheint nach den bisherigen Beobachtungen die einzige Nahrungspflanze der Art zu sein. Šulcs & Savenkov (2014) fanden die Raupe in Lettland jedenfalls auch an dieser Pflanze.

4.2. Faunistik

Nach der [Fauna Europaea] kommt die Art Litauen, Polen und Rumänien vor. Nach Gaedike & Heinicke (1999) kommt die Art nicht in Deutschland vor.

Šulcs & Savenkov (2014) melden den Erstfund für Lettland: "Province(s): VTT. Notes: This European rarity (Fig. 3) was found on the dunes of the Latvian west coast in the vicinity of VTT Užava (Fig. 4). It was first discovered as full-grown larvae on Astragalus arenarius (Figs 5 & 6). On 09.07.2011, the species was collected in numbers coming to light together with Coleophora onobrychiella Zeller 1849 (IŠ). In the Baltic countries, C. polonicella was only reported from Lithuania by P. Ivinskis (2004), who referred this information to Prüffer (1947). Because these data cannot be verified and there are no new records, we consider the found population in Užava the first approved finding of this species in any Baltic country. The only known European countries of verified occurrence for C. polonicella are Poland and Romania."
