Benannt nach dem griechischen Regionalbezirk Lakonia, in dem der locus typicus liegt.

Baldizzone (1983: 240) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotypus ♂ (Bldz 3836): “Hellas, Lakonia, Mt. Taygetos, 11.VI.1980, leg. G. Christensen”, coll. Baldizzone, Asti.”
