Amsel (1955: 7) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Falter: „Monotypus. — 1 ♂ Ain Etturabe, Totes Meer, –390 m Höhe, 16.III.1953.“

Nach Baldizzone (1983: 40) ist der Holotypus verschollen: « Malgré des recherches très minutieuses il n'a pas été possible de retrouver l’exemplaire en question, ni dans les coll. des LNK, ni dans la coll. Trevor Trought (le recolteur de cette expèce) au BMNH. »

Baldizzone (2023: 242) untersuchte den Holotypus: “Following the study of the holotype of C. ghorella Amsel, 1955 preserved in the RBINS [Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Brussels, Belgium (Anmerkung Jürgen Rodeland)], it is hypothesized that it is probably a junior synonym of C. hospitiella Chrétien, 1915, but the conditions of the genital preparation made by Amsel do not allow to establish it with certainty.” Er lokalisiert den Locus typicus in Jordanien.
