3.2. Nomenklatur

Nach Baldizzone & van der Wolf (2003: 5) hat der Holotypus von Coleophora centrota, das einzige bekannte Exemplar dieses Taxons, kein Abdomen. “According to the external morphology it is probably the same as C. byrsostola.”

Sollte diese Vermutung zutreffen, wäre der Name Coleophora centrota wegen seiner Priorität gültig. Ein Fall zur Anwendung von Next Generation Barcording!

Baldizzone & van der Wolf (2003: 4) designierten einen Lectotypus: “Lectotype ♂ (here designated), INDIA. – ‘LECTOTYPE’ (round purple-edged BMNH label), ‘Mahableshawar Bombay RM. Bred .6. 30’ (Meyrick’s handwritten label), ‘Macrocorystis birsostola (sic) Meyr. 1/9, E. Meyrick det., in Meyrick Coll.’ ‘Meyrick Coll. B.M. 1938-290’, ‘MACROCORYSTIS Meyr.’ (Meyrick’s handwritten label), ‘byrsostola’ (Meyrick’s handwritten label), ‘Lectotype ♂, Macrocorystis birsostola (sic) Meyr., teste K. Sattler, 1988’ (BMNH) [not examined].”
