Braun (1940: 182): “Type, ♂, reared on seeds of Asten umbellatus; paratypes, 3 ♂, 9 ♀, of the same reared series (B. 1421); Brown County, Ohio; date of emergence of the type, September 8, 1932; paratypes September 3 to 20. Type and paratypes in author's collection; paratypes in the U. S. National Museum and in the Canadian National Colletion. The larvae were collected October 22, 1931.”
