3.1. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Evans (1952: 77) beschrieb das Taxon noch als "Codotractus carlos ssp. rowena". Er erklärte: "Sub-sp. rowena nov: ♂ Venezuela, Putao Guiria: Aug 1891: type B.M. B.M. 2 ♂ Colombia. 1 ♂ Venezuela." Seine "Codotractus carlos ssp. arguta" wird heute als Unterart zu C. rowena gestellt. Er hatte zu ihr vermerkt: "Sub-sp. arguta nov: ♂ Trinidad, N. Mountains: Dec to Jan 1939: A. Hall: type B.M. B.M. 3 ♂ 2 ♀ Trinidad."
