Die Raupe lebt in einer Reihe von Korbblütler-Köpfchen, angeblich aber auch an Arten anderer Pflanzenfamilien. Wegen der Bestimmungsschwierigkeiten des Falters dürften sich hier auch diverse Falschangaben befinden. Hancock et al. (2014: 93) listen auf: "Recorded foodplants include ox-eye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare), dandelion (Taraxacum spp.), germander (Teucrium spp.), hawkweed (Hieracium spp.), cat's-ear (Hypochoeris radicata), rough hawkbit (Leontodon hispidus), rock-rose (Helianthemum spp.), mountain avens (Dryas octopetala), sea campion (Silene maritima), red clover (Trifolium pratense), yellow rattle (Rhinanthus minor) and ragwort (Senecio spp.)."

Langmaid & Young (2007: 258) berichtet aus Großbritannien (Acarsaid, Eriskay): "larvae and pupae in flowers of Hypochoeris radicata and Antennaria dioica 30.vi.2006, moth bred".
