Goater (1986) schreibt: "Moderately common in the aquatic greenhouses at Enfield; first recorded 15 July 1977. Another native of the Far East, recorded from India and Sri Lanka. The Enfield stock originated from the latter colony." Goater et al. (2005) erwähnen die Art in ihrem "Appendix: List of acentropine species introduced to Europe by man" mit dem kurzen Text: "Recorded from British nurseries (Agassiz, 1978: 125) and one specimen from the Netherlands (Kuchlein & de Vos, 1999: 128). Native to the Oriental Region."

Auf [HanthsMoths] wird ein Belegtier vom 15. August 1977 aus Enfield gezeigt. Agassiz et al. (2013: 112) führen die Art bei den "adventive species" und schreiben zu England: "Occasionally imported with aquatic plants, only survives in heated greenhouses. Oriental."

Bei Kuchlein & de Vos (1999: 128) wird zu den Niederlanden berichtet: "[23] Four specimens of Oligostigma angulipennis Hampson, 1891 were recorded from Amsterdam in 1980 (det. M. Shaffer). The species was introduced from Malaysia with aquatic plants (C.W. Hemker, in collection Zoological Museum, Amsterdam. Not reported earlier from The Netherlands. Thus far there is no evidence, that O. angulipennis occurs in aquatic nurseries in our country."

Die Art dürfte in Europa kaum Möglichkeiten finden, beständig außerhalb von Gewächshäusern zu leben.
