2.1. Nahrung der Raupe

Die Raupennahrung war lange unbekannt. Davis (1969: 139) schloss aus der Beschaffenheit des Ovipositors, dass die Arten der Gattung Acanthopteroctetes - wie die von Eriocrania - Blattminierer sein dürften. Davis (1984: 50) notierte bei der Beschreibung von A. aurulenta: "The Spring Creek, Oregon habitat can be characterized as a pine-sagebrush association with Ceanothus (the host of A. unifascia Davis (Davis and Frack, in press)) occurring nearby." Shropshire & Tallamy (2025) nehmen diese Angabe mit in ihre Tabelle von Supplement 1 auf.

3.1. Faunistik
Davis (1978: 99) schrieb zur Verbreitung: This species is known only from the type-locality, which is situated in the western sector of the Santa Monica Mountains, a coastal range in Ventura County, southern California." Nach [mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu] ist die Art im westlichen Kalifornien weit verbreitet.
3.2. Typenmaterial
Davis (1978: 98-99) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Exemplar: "Holotype ♂, Circle X Ranch, B.S.A. Camp, 1500 ft [457 m], Ventura County, California, 24 April 1966, coll. J. Powell, tf genitalia slide DRD 2828, in the California Academy of Sciences on indefinite loan from the University of California, Berkeley."
