3.1. Faunistik

Die Art wurde aus Turkmenistan beschrieben, später auch in den Vereinigen Arabischen Emiraten gefunden. Barton (2015) meldet den (sehr wahrscheinlichen) Erstnachweis für Zypern: "Nikokleia, 27.ix.2014: numerous vacated Stigmella mines in Ficus carica var. (Plate 1) are likely to be this species (EvN pers. comm.). Known from Turkmenistan." "EvN" steht für Erik van Nieukerken, der auf seiner [Artseite auf Nepticulidae and Opostegidae of the world] Zypern als Teil des Verbreitungsgebiets akzeptiert (und dabei die Arbeit von Barton (2015) als Literatur anführt) und der zum Holotypus aus Turkmenistan schreibt: "Holotype male, Turkmenistan, env. Ashkhabad, (Kopet Dag range, loc. Tschuli), 14.x.1987, ex l. 30.iv.1988, G. Krasilnikova".

Puplesis (1994: 65): “Holotype: ♂, Turkmeniya, env. Ashkhabad (central part of Kopet-Dag ridge, loc. Tschuli), 14.x.1987, larva on Ficus carica, ex l. 30.iv.1988, leg. G. Krasilnikova. Paratypes: 13 ♂, 10 ♀, the same data; 2 ♀, Turkmeniya, 50 km E Kara-Kala (western part of Kopet-Dag ridge), Aydere, 10.x.1987, larvae on Ficus carica, ex l. ii-iii.1988 (indoors), leg. P. Ivinskis.”
