Traugott-Olsen (1992: 216) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Falter: “Holotype ♂. Asia min. Turcia, 50 km, östl. Istambul, 50 m ü-M, leg. M. u. W. Glaser; gen. prep. C.11.9.87/ETO; Wing prep. A.21.1.90/ETO Elachista minusculella sp.n. det. ETO. – in the ZMUC.”
