Traugott-Olsen (1992: 217) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Falter: “Holotype ♂. Turkey, Provincia de Ankara, 20 km, NW Kizilcahamen, 1.200 m, 24-VII-1986, leg. Michael Fibiger; Gen. prep. C.27.9.90/ETO; Wing prep. A.5.7.90/ETO; Elachista blancella sp.n. det. ETO. – in the ZMUC.”
