McDunnough (1940: 62): “Holotype—♂, White Point Beach, N.S., Aug. 14, 1935 (J. McDunnough); No. 4570 in the Canadian National Collection, Ottawa. Allotype—♀, same data, Aug. 26. Paratypes—2 ♀, same data as holotype; 1 ♂, Tabusintac, N.B., July 29, 1929 (J. McDunnough); 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Kearney, Ont., Aug. 4, 1925 (F. Ide).”

Nach McDunnough (1944) gehören die von ihm 1940 benannten beiden ♀♀-Paratypen nicht zu dieser Art; offensichtlich bezieht sich dies auf die mit “2 ♀, same data as holotype” bezeichneten ♀♀. Erst im August 1943 gelang es ihm, ♀♀ von C. quadruplex zu finden. Die beiden Paratypen vermutet er als zu C. intermediella gehörig, ohne sie definitiv bestimmen zu können.
