3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Baldizzone (2023: 245) erklärt wenig überraschend: "The name derives from the Latin iordanicus(-a, -um) which indicates the correlationwith the Jordan River."

3.2. Taxonomie

Nach Baldizzone (2023: 244) gehört die Art in die Nähe der Coleophora incultella und Coleophora hinnula.

3.3. Faunistik

Die Art ist vorerst nur durch den männlichen Holotypus aus dem Jordantal am Fluss Zerqa (Nahr ez-Zarqu) bekannt. Die Fundstelle liegt 100 m unter dem Meeresspiegel.
