McQuillan (1996: 448): “From nebulosa, alluding to the pale cloudy coloration of this species.”

2.2. Type material

McQuillan (1996: 447): “Holotype. ♂, labelled “6 km ENE of Shannon, Tasmania. 920 m. MVL. 21 DEC. 1981 P. B. McQuillan : genitalia slide GE 3041 P. B. McQuillan 1987” in ANIC.” — Paratypes: 8 ♂♂, 8 ♀♀, all from Tasmania.
