Falck & Karsholt (2019: 328): “The species is named after the coloration of the forewing (flavescens means yellowish in Latin).”

Die Art ist bisher nur durch die Typenserie von Gran Canaria (Kanarische Inseln) bekannt.

Falck & Karsholt (2019: 328): “Holotype ♂, SPAIN: Gran Canaria, Pie de la Cuesta 8 km nnv, 895 m, 17-30-IX- 2018, leg. P. Falck”, genitalia slide 2814PF (coll. ZMUC).” — Paratypen: 17 ♂♂, alle von Gran Canaria.
