Nach der Fußnote der „Inhalts-Uebersicht“ [Digitalisat auf biodiversitylibrary.org] ist Heft 1 mit den Seiten 1-184 und den Tafeln I-VI am 27. Juli 1897 erschienen und Heft 2 mit den Seiten 185-412, I-XI und den Tafeln VII-XII am 12. Januar 1898.

Locus typicus ist Angora (Ankara) in der Türkei

Vives Moreno (2014: 167) akzeptiert die Art für Spanien und Portugal. S. 168 führt er aber "conchylidella sensu Vives, 1992" als Synonym der neu beschriebenen Chrysoesthia hispanica Karsholt & Vives, 2014.

Corley (2015) schließt die Art mit Anmerkung 0551A aus der Fauna Portugals aus: "Recorded from ALG: Lagoa da Nave, 22.iv.1992 Corley (Carvalho & Corley, 1995) but is now thought to be a misidentification of this Turkish species (O. Karsholt, pers. comm). The correct identification is not yet known. Placed in Catatinagma Rebel, 1903 by Vives (2014) but the Turkish species may be misplaced in that genus and anyway the Portuguese species is not the same as that from Turkey, so it is left in Coloptilia for now." Corley et al. (2020: 618) können klären: "Coloptilia conchylidella (Hofmann, 1898) was recorded in Algarve in CARVALHO & CORLEY (1995), but subsequently excluded from the Portuguese fauna in CORLEY (2015) without a correct identification for the specimen being provided. Recent re-examination shows that it belongs to Catatinagma agenjoi."

Wahrscheinlich gilt die Streichung (und die Neuzuordnung) auch für die alte Meldung aus Spanien, so dass C. conchylidella für Europa zu streichen wäre. Bis zur Klärung führen wir sie noch mit Fragezeichen für Spanien.
