Als Typenfundort nannte Jordan (1922: 291) "Cape of Good Hope" in Südafrika. Die Funde auf [iNnaturalist (abgefragt 28. März 2026)] liegen alle nördlich von Kapstadt ganz im Westen von Südafrika.

Jordan (1922: 291) schrieb: "Cape of Good Hope"; 1 ♀ in Mus. Berlin." Er beschrieb die Art also nach einem Einzelexemplar, das im Museum für Naturkunde Berlin deponiert ist.
