2.2. Taxonomie

Hope (1843: 131) stellte für die Beschreibung von zwei neuen Schwalbenschwanz-Arten eine neue Gattung auf: Teinopalpus, die heute in eine eigene Tribus Teinopalpini gestellt wird. Seine zweite "Art" stellte sich bald als Weibchen zum Männchen heraus.

Typenfundort ist "Indiâ Orientali, Silhet" (Hope (1843: 131)).
