Einzige bekannte Nahrungspflanze der Raupe (oberseitige Blattminen) ist die hochgiftige Rizinusstaude (Ricinus communis). [Bladmineerdeers.nl] zeigt Bilder der oberseitigen Blattminen der Art aus Zypern.

Die Art wurde nach einem Exemplar aus "Sarnia, Natal" (Südafrika) beschrieben. Nach der [Fauna Europaea] kommt die Art in unserem Bearbeitungsgebiet nur auf Zypern vor. Barton (2018) meldet dazu: "Xeros Potamos site A, 4.v.2014, specimen IB1701, potted on Ricinus communis L. As well as other imagines, active mines and cocoons were noted on this date. Ezouzas River, 9.v.2014, several mines on Ricinus communis."
