3. Weitere Informationen

Lemes et al. (2026: 169) sehen das auch so: "Although Plötz (1884) did not provide an etymology for tucumanus, he was clearly referring to the locality of Tucumán, in Argentina."

Lemes et al. (2026: 169) begannen ihre Diagnose: "Staphylus (C.) tucumanus has a brown VHW tornal area (Fig. 30R, T) and unique male genitalia (Fig. 43), with the base of uncus with two lateral rounded expansions. The female genitalia (Fig. 47I) differ from other species due to the lamella postvaginalis produced at the proximal margin as a tube connected to the ostium bursae." Zur Verbreitung schrieben sie dann: "Paraguay: Boquerón, Ñeembucú (Kochalka et al. 1996) and Presidente Hayes; Argentina: Buenos Aires (Hayward 1933), Catamarca (Hayward 1944, Schaefer and Breyer 1945), Córdoba (Plötz 1884, Hayward 1933), Entre Ríos, La Rioja (Hayward 1934), Mendoza (Hayward 1933), Salta and Santiago del Estero."

3.5. Typenmaterial

Nisoniades tucumanus Plötz, 1884 was described based on an unspecified number of specimens from Cordova [Argentina], without designating the deposited collection. Considering that no syntypes were found in the collections MfN, ZSM and ZIMG where this material could be, and to stabilize the nomenclature, a neotype is herein designated with the following labels: / 25-II-1975 Pichanal, Salta, Arg.[entina] Eisele det. /Staphylus tucumanus Eisele det/ DZ 45.125/ Neotypus/ Neotypus Nisoniades tucumanus Plötz, 1884, Lemes, O. Mielke, Casagrande, Siewert, A. Warren, 2025/. The chosen neotype is from Argentina, the same type locality as stated in the original description and is deposited in a scientific institution, the DZUP at the Universidade Federal do Paraná, Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Staphylus fascia Hayward, 1933 was described based on a holotype [without designating the sex] from Argentina, in Breyer collection. Considering that no syntypes were found in the UNLP, where the Breyer collection was transferred to and where the holotype could be, the same neotype of Nisoniades tucumanus is herein designated with another two labels: /Neotypus/ Neotypus Staphylus fascia Hayward, 1933, Lemes, O. Mielke, Casagrande, Siewert, A. Warren, 2025/. The chosen neotype is from Brazil [recte: Argentina!], the same type locality as stated in the original description, and is deposited in a scientific institution, the DZUP at the Universidade Federal do Paraná, Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil."
