3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Der Erstautor vergibt die Namen seiner vier neu beschriebenen Arten nach den Vornamen von Vater, Mutter, Schwester und Tante. Hier: "This species name is dedicated to Nicole Assmann Lemes, the first author’s sister."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Lemes et al. (2026: 166) beginnen ihre Beschreibung mit: "Males of Staphylus (C.) nicoleae sp. nov. have unique male genitalia, with the ampulla possessing a finger-like projection at the ventral margin and bearing a dense cluster of stout, socketed spines (Fig. 8M–P)." Er merkt an, dass die Tiere bisher fehldeterminiert waren und daher nicht als neue Art erkannt wurden: "Evans (1953) wrongly identified specimens of this species in the NHMUK as S. imperspicua, which was herein proposed as a new synonym of Staphylus (Capilla) lizeri lizeri."

Beim Barcoding erwies sich S. nicoleae als Schwester von S. azteca.

Lemes et al. (2026: 166) umreißen das bisher bekannte Verbreitungsgebiet in Kolumbien und Venezuela: "Colombia: Cesar (Pullido-B. and Andrade-C. 2009; Campos-Salazar et al. 2011), Cundinamarca, Magdalena Valley. Venezuela: Carabobo and Vargas."
