3.1. Nahrung der Raupe

Die Raupe gilt als hochgradig polyphag. [EPPO (abgefragt 18. Januar 2022)] meldet auf ihrer "EPPO Alert List": "S. ornithogalli is a highly polyphagous pest which can damage economically important crops such as asparagus, bean, beet, cotton, maize, tomato, pepper, potato, sunflower, sorghum, soybean, wheat, as well as ornamentals such as chrysanthemums and roses. It can also be found on weeds (e.g. Amaranthus retroflexus, Chenopodium album, Datura stramonium, Erigeron canadensis, Plantago lanceolata, Rumex). A list of hosts can be viewed in the EPPO Global Database."

Januar 2022)] meldete: "Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 1967: Absent, intercepted only" und als zugehörige Referenz: "* Thygesen T (1967) [An unwelcome visitor from America, the moth Prodenia ornithogalli]. Gartner Tidende no.46 717-718. - Larvae were intercepted on potted citrus plants imported from Florida (US)."

Kuchlein & de Vos (1999: 214) berichteten aus den Niederlanden: "[47] Caterpillars of Spodoptera ornithogalli (Guenée, 1852) have been found on Citrus-plants from Florida, that are cultivated in greenhouses here (Van Rossem, Burger & Van de Bund, 1970). Of course it concerns an adventive species." [EPPO (abgefragt 18. Januar 2022)] meldet auf ihrer "EPPO Alert List": "As repeated interceptions of Spodoptera ornithogalli (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were made in 2020, particularly on consignments of Asparagus from the Americas, the NPPO of the Netherlands suggested that this pest should be added to the EPPO Alert List. This proposal was also supported by the Panel on Phytosanitary Measures."
