3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Bengtsson (1991: 43): “The name saxella is derived from the latin saxum (stone, boulder, rock). This refers to the appearance of the type locality.”

3.2. Faunistik

Die aus Frankreich beschriebene Art wurde nach Bengtsson (1997) auch in Bulgarien gefunden.

3.3. Typenmaterial

Bengtsson (1991: 42) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotype:

1 ♂, labelled: FRANCE, (Htes Alpes), Briançon, Bois de la Pinée, 100 m, 20-VII-1987, E.J. van Nieukerken & S. Richter; Gen. prep.nr BÅB 291X ♂. Genitalia mounted on slide. In coll. Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie, Leiden.”
